Avis de décès : M. Penrose Clyde St. Amant (1935-03-21 - 2022-02-11)

Penrose Clyde St. Amant, born March 21, 1935, joined his Heavenly father on March 11, 2022.

Born in New Orleans to Judge Clyde Victor St. Amant and Susie Watson St. Amant, "The Judge" was the oldest of three siblings including Martha Sue St. Amant Tweedy and Eric St. Amant.

Raised in Gonzales, The Judge attended Gonzales High School, graduating valedictorian, and chose to attend Louisiana College in Pineville to pursue a degree in history. Among his many accomplishments including graduating Summa Cum Laude and first in his class in 1956, his finest was meeting his lovely wife Madeline Broussard. Introduced by his sister Sue, the two began a relationship that has lasted over 56 years.

After graduating from Louisiana State University Law School in 1959 (also first in his class and Summa Cum Laude) he chose to follow his passion of helping others in his community. As an attorney, he represented the people of Gonzales until 1969, when he was sworn in as Judge of the 23rd Judicial District Court, where he served until 1981. He continued to practice law while raising his daughter, Nicole.

As a man of faith, he stayed actively involved in the First Baptist Church of Gonzales, St. Gregory of Gonzales, and Trinity Episcopal of Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Judge was a husband, father and grandfather and led an exceptional life of servitude to the Lord and the people he met and will truly be missed by all.

Penrose St. Amant is preceded by both his parents and his sister, Sue Tweedy. He is survived by his wife, Madeline Kay St. Amant; his daughter, Nicole and her husband Collin Coburn; and his granddaughters, Charli and Susie Coburn.
