Avis de décès : Mme Linda Sue Lickfold (Holland) (1947-10-07 - 2022-01-12)

Linda Sue Holland, age 74, a longtime resident of Kettle Falls, WA passed away at her home on January 12, 2022, following a battle with metastatic endometrial cancer. Linda was born on October 7, 1947 in Kellogg, ID the daughter of Roy and Rosaline (St. Amand) Lickfold.

Linda's family moved to the Pleasant Valley area near Rice, WA, where they farmed their land. Linda attended the one-room Pleasant Valley Schoolhouse during her early years of education. She completed high school in Kettle Falls, WA, where she graduated with the class of 1966. Linda then moved to Seattle and resided there for a short time before returning to the Northeastern Washington area. She resided in Spokane for some time, where she attended Katie's School of Beauty. Linda eventually moved back to Kettle Falls, where she met a young military man named Marvin Holland. They married on February 28, 1970 and began a 52-year marriage. Putting her passion and skill for cosmetology to work, Linda opened a hair and beauty salon in Kettle Falls, named "Hair Flare". She often worked long hours, and as her and Marvin's family grew, so did her heart to become a homemaker. She eventually sold the business, and they watched their family grow both in number and in love. Linda's home was open to any child in need. She was a loving mother to her children, unconditionally adored her grandchildren, always dedicated time and love for her foster children, as well as her nieces, nephews, and a neighborhood of kids grateful to have a second home at Linda's.

Linda took great pride in her home, and raised several gardens and a beautifully manicured yard. She cooked countless meals for a table that was always full of family and friends. She also traveled miles - too many to measure - in support of her childrens' sporting events and musical endeavors. Linda found great joy in listening to her children practice music, warming the bleachers in every season and sport, and attending band and music recitals. She found delight in ironing Marvin's clothing, sewing, knitting and creating clothing and costumes for all generations. Her faithfulness in God was great and her love for her family was without end. She was always present, able to babysit, attend and organize family reunions, and offer a motherly touch of love, kindness and compassion. She had a zest, a wit, and a laugh that was infectious. Simply put… "Linda loved like no other".

Linda was active in her community, volunteering time and services at both the Kettle Falls Visitor's Center and the Meyers Falls Cemetery Association. Linda was also a longtime member of TOPS and shared in several home-study bible groups over the years.

She was preceded in death by her son Wade Holland, and a grandson, Morgan Holland. Linda is survived by her husband of 52 years, Marvin J. Holland, at the home; sons, Troy Holland (Sherrie) of Kettle Falls, WA, Brian Holland (Tanya) of Spokane, WA; daughter, Vonda Holland of Spokane, WA; daughter-in-law, Sincerray Holland of Colville, WA; grandchildren, Vanessa, Desirea, Meikah, Chris, Erin, Sean, Miranda, Marissa, Madelyn and Marvin; great-grandchildren, Weston, Luke and Arabella; siblings, Larry Lickfold (Sandy) of Kettle Falls, WA, Tammy Humes of Baton Rouge, LA, Trena Lickfold of Spokane, WA, Glenn Lickfold (Jamie) of Kettle Falls, WA, Allen Lickfold (Patsy) of Kettle Falls, WA; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
