The family of Mary Anne (Marie) Bernice Lucienne Bachand, (nee St. Amand), are extremely sad to announce her passing on May 8th, at Rotary Hospice House in Prince George, B.C. Surrounded by her family and friends in her final hours, she passed peacefully with her eldest daughter by her side.
Marie is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Laurent, her children Martin Bachand (Sharon), Dianne Behm (Terry), Elaine Bachand, Adele Bachand (Murray), Rhea Bachand-Dawson (Darcy). Grandchildren David Bachand (Hilary), Angela Aubichon (Ken), Mark Bachand (Rachelle), Steven Pisiak (Alycia), Rodney Pisiak, Kevin Pisiak (Emma), Dan Behm (Suie), Jeremy Behm (Nikki), Rina Cote (Jason), Brandon Cote, Megan Parrish (Tyler), Marie Stewart (Michael), and Grant Selby. Many Great Grand Children were privileged to have her as their Grandma, as well as self proclaimed extra sons, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren who were determined to be considered part of her extended family by virtue of the endless love, support and unconditional acceptance she had for each one of them.
Marie was born on March 6th, 1937 on her parent's farm near Zenon Park Saskatchewan. She was part of a large family of 10 children and has three remaining siblings, Therese, Denis (Edna), and Laurette (Laurent). She completed high school in Saskatchewan in 1955 and moved to BC shortly after where she became a new bride on February 14th 1956. She has lived in Prince George as the Matriarch of the family since then, in a cozy house that she constantly filled with joy, laughter and love. Rest In Peace dear one.
