A Mass of Christian Burial will be held for Barbara Ann St. Amand on Tuesday, February 23, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. in the St. Landry Catholic Church of Opelousas. Msgr. Russell Harrington will celebrate the Mass. Rite of Committal will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park.
Barbara entered into eternal rest on Friday, February 19, 2021 at the age of 73, at her residence surrounded by her family.
She enjoyed traveling and reading.
She is survived by her loving husband, Lionel St. Amand, sons, Rusty St. Amand (Michelle), Mike St. Amand (Kathy), daughters, Terri Trahan (Terry), Diane Dupre (Donnie) and Nicole Dupre (Buddy), brother, Alden Fontenot, eleven grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by parents, Evanus and Essie Fontenot, four grandsons, James St. Amand, Corey Miller, Lane St. Amand, and Gavin Dupre.
Visitation will be held on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 2:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. in the Sibille Funeral Home of Opelousas. The rosary will be recited by Norma Guillory, Sadie Miller, Connor St. Amand and Victoria St. Amand at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The funeral home will reopen on Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Pallbearers will be Nicholas Miller, Mark Dupre, Katie Miller, Ryan Dupre, Holden St. Amand, Ross St. Amand, and Gabe Dupre.
