James O'Neal Melton Jr., age 67, of Temple Terrace, FL passed away on Saturday, January 9, 2021. James was born August 24, 1953 in Mobile, AL, the son of James O'Neal Melton Sr. and Madeline (Stauter) Diamond-Melton.
Jim honorably and humbly served his country as a Navy veteran as well as through his work as an engineer supporting agencies of the Department of Defense. He was a passionate supporter of University of Alabama football...Roll Tide! But most importantly, he was a devoted father and husband who cared deeply about the well being of his entire family. He will be truly missed and not soon forgotten.
James was preceded in death by his father, James Sr., and by his wife, the love of his life, Susan St. Amant Melton. He is survived by his mother, Madeline Diamond-Melton; his daughter, Jaclyn Capazola and husband Chris; son, Bradley Melton and wife Brandy; siblings, Kathy Beard and husband Raymond, George William (Billy) Melton and wife Cindy, David Melton and wife Donna, and Mary Freeman.
The family will receive friends from 6-8 pm, Monday, January 18, 2021 at Blount and Curry, Terrace Oaks Chapel, Temple Terrace. Mass will be held at 10:30 am, Tuesday, January 19, 2021 at Corpus Christi Catholic Church, Temple Terrace. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell.
