Arthelin Y. St. Amand, 79, of Lake In The Hills, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Tuesday morning, November 21, 2017.
He was born November 13, 1938 in St. Andre, New Brunswick, Canada, the son of Paul J. and Rose Anne (Parent) St. Amand. He was united in marriage to Gloria Michaud on May 23, 1959 in Brantford, Ontario.
The couple made their home in Lake In The Hills for many years and Arthelin worked as a truck driver. He was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Huntley and a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus. Arthelin was a devoted husband, father and grandfather and especially enjoyed time spent with his family.
He is survived by his wife Gloria of Lake In The Hills, his daughter, Susan (Greg) Warnecke of Hanover Park, son, Art St. Amand Jr. of Lake In The Hills, his son-in-law, Tom Scotti of Lake Villa, his grandchildren, Keith, Eva (Richard), Nicholas, Jennifer (Christopher), Bryan (Marisa), Gregory, Dillon, Travis, Matthew and Carter, his great-grandchildren, Peyton, London, Mia and Mack, his sisters, Imelda, Noella and Jeanette and his brothers, Robert, Bernard and Fernand. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane his sisters, Claudette and Joan, Azilda and Phelima and his brother, Euclid.
Visitation will be from 3:00 – 7:00 p.m. on Monday, November 27th, at the DeFiore-Jorgensen Funeral & Cremation Service, 10763 Dundee Road, Huntley. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. and the family will greet friends after 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, November 28th, at St. Mary Catholic Church, 10307 Dundee Road, Huntley.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
