Gerard "Pete" St. Amand, 70, of Enfield, passed away at home Saturday, Oct. 8, 2016, after a courageous battle with cancer with his loving family by his side.

Pete was born in Augusta, Maine on Jan. 28, 1946, the son of Rose (Morin) and Raoul St. Amand. He attended St. Augustine Catholic School and Graduated in 1964 from Cony High School in Augusta, Maine. After graduation Pete joined the U.S. Navy as a SeeBee and was a combat Veteran during the Vietnam War. He was a restaurant manager for Hazel Greens in Augusta, Mane and Concord. Also, Manager of Papa Ginos in West Lebanon. He worked for the U.S. Postal Service in White River Junction, Vt. as a mail handler for 25 years, retiring in 2008.

He enjoyed playing horseshoes with his father and brothers and anyone willing to lose at the game. If you ask him, he was the best! His favorite pastime was riding his Harley, touring the country and enjoying bike trips with his son, brother and nephews. Pete was an avid bowler and bowled in many bowling leagues.

Pete was predeceased by his parents, his brothers, Robert and Reginald St. Amand. A sister-in-law, Germaine St. Amand and a brother-in-law, Richard Goral. and his dog Scooter. Pete is survived by his wife Elizabeth "Betsey" (Dawe) St. Amand of 40 years as well as his six children, Lorri Lacroix of Vassalboro, Maine and her three daughters, Nichole Burke, Kelsie Farrin and her husband, Brandon and Danielle Colfer, Renay Hopkins of West Gardiner and her husband, Andrew and their children, Erika and Justyn Wilson, Kristian St. Amand of Enfield, and her son, Tyler Findley, Stacey Dillon of Bradford, and her husband, Michael and their children, Ryan, Kyle and Emma, Nicholas St. Amand of Gorham, Maine and his wife, Christine and their son, Carter and Sara St. Amand of Enfield. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard St. Amand and his wife, Carole of Augusta, Maine, Donald St. Amand and his wife, Brenda of Hermon, Maine, Sylvio "Moon" St. Amand and his wife, Debbie of Montclair, Calif., his only sister, Patrica Goral of Barnstable, Mass. His sister-in-law, Cindy St. Amand of Hollis, Maine. His six great-grandchildren, Baileigh, Kaicen, Kaylee, Calvyn, Payton and Charlee. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins and his beloved granddog Tucker.

Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society of New Hampshire.

At Pete's request there will be no funeral services.
