Funeral services for Rosa Lia Mayers St. Amant will be held Saturday, December 6, 2014, 10:30 AM, at Ascension Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Holy Rosary cemetery. Visitation will be held on Friday, December 5, 2014, at Ascension Baptist Church from 6:00 PM until 9:00 PM and resuming on Saturday morning from 9:30 AM until service time at 10:30 AM.
A resident of Gonzales, Mrs. Rosa went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at her home. She loved her grandchildren, her Sunday school class, her church and her Lord. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived by her husband, Valmond "V.J." St. Amant, Jr.; children, Manny J. Mayers and wife, Cindy, Yvonne Thomas and husband, Joey, Carmelita Ferguson, Gary Mayers and wife Tracie, Jay St. Amant and wife, Lisa, Tyler St. Amant and wife, Kyara, Danielle Wooley and husband, Kirby, Monte St. Amant; grandchildren, Joshua, Jessica and Joseph Mayers, Ian and Lauren Ferguson, Cole and Matthew Mayers, Noah and Jonah Thomas, Kaitlyn, Thad and Kelly Wooley, Joseph and Grace St. Amant, Luke and Caleb Ickes; siblings, Victoria Manotas and husband Jesus, Yenny Preteltt, Betty Pretelt Alicea, Jazmin Pretelt Russel, Marcos Pretelt, Johnny Pretelt and Tulio Pretelt IV; step-mother, Louisa Prettelt, special cousins, Noris and Salvador Granados, Virgi and Orlando Amaya, Elmy and Beto Espinales, and nephew William Henry Pretelt; special friends, Ann Bell and Laurence Ferguson, and numerous nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, Tulio Sr. and Rosa Lia Pretelt; first husband, Manuel J. Mayers Sr.; grandson, Nathan Ferguson; brother, Tulio Prettelt, Jr. and sisters, Carmen Bustillo and Judith Amaris.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in Mrs. St. Amant's name to the Wounded Warrior Project and Gideon International.
