Avis de décès : M. Girard R. St. Amand (1923-03-21 - 2014-11-17)

Girard R. St. Amand, 91, died Monday, November 17, 2014. He was the husband of the late Doris M. (Davignon) St. Amand and son of the late Clement and Alphonsine (Patnaude) St. Amand.

Girard was born in Acushnet and was a lifelong resident. He worked for many years at the family business, St. Amand’s Farm Dairy and was the President of St. Amand Corporation which ran Brookside Mobile Home Park. He served on the Acushnet Board of Health, volunteered for many years with the Acushnet Fire Department, where he was an inaugural member of Station 2, and was a charter member of the Citizens Club of Acushnet. He was a communicant of St. Xavier Parish and its Saint Vincent de Paul Society, and was also a member of the Jolly Seniors of Acushnet.

He is survived by two sons, Girard L. St. Amand and his wife Muriel A. of Norfolk and Maurice V. St. Amand and his wife Susan P. of Acushnet; a sister, Lorraine Bigler of Monrovia, CA; eight grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

His funeral service will be held Saturday, November 22, 2014 at 9 am from Rock Funeral Home, 1285 Ashley Blvd., New Bedford followed by a funeral mass at 10 am in St. Francis Xavier Parish, 125 Main St., and Acushnet. Burial will follow in Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visiting hours Friday from 4 to 7 pm.
