Avis de décès : M. James Gray (1923- - 2014-08-17)

James “Jim” Gray passed away peacefully at the Ottawa General Hospital on Sunday, August 17, 2014, leaving behind his loving wife of 52 years, Ruth (Johnsen).

Jim was the son of the late James Gray and Anna St. Amand. He is predeceased by brothers Emerson, Arthur, Duncan and Allan and sisters Kathleen and Helen. Survived by loving sisters Marguerite Bergeron and Ruth Lussier. Jim leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews.

Jim was a dedicated Civil Servant with the Department of Transportation as well as the Department of National Defense. Jim was a veteran of the Second World War serving with RCAF and RAF as a member of the Lancaster crew. He flew 43 missions and recently received the Bomber Command Bar from the Government of Canada, recognizing his service.

He enjoyed tennis, was an avid golfer and greatly enjoyed his yearly driving trips to Florida. Jim and Ruth also spent many happy summers at their cottage.

Friends are invited to visit at the Central Chapel of Hulse, Playfair & McGarry, 315 McLeod Street (at O’Connor) on Wednesday, August 27, 2014 from 10:00a.m. until 12:00p.m. Service in the Chapel at 12:00noon. Reception to follow.

As an expression of sympathy donations to the Perley Rideau Veteran’s Health Centre would be appreciated.

Il était le fils d'Anna St. Amand et de James Gray; le petit-fils de Duncan St. Amand (St. Thomas) et de Catherine Payment; l'arrière-petit-fils de Louis-Joseph Lebrette dit St-Amand et de Priscille Hudon-Beaulieu. Il est un descendant de Michel Lebrette dit St-Amand.
