Lempi St. Amand, of Roseview Manor, passed away Thursday, April 10, 2014 at the age of 103. Lempi was born on February 27, 1911 in Viipuri Finland. Upon her arrival to Thunder Bay, she was actively involved in the Finn community, and worked at the Hoito Restaurant. She is predeceased by her husband of over 50 years, Osias St. Amand. She is survived by her two children: Marlene Allaire and David St. Amand (Tricia Taylor), by her two grandsons Dallas Allaire (Trish, Tara and Dallas Jr.) and Parris Allaire, and by her nephew (Joyce, Wendy, Susan, Lorrie & Families) Throughout her life, she enjoyed dancing, walking, sewing, knitting and collecting dolls and spoons. Through her incredible kindness and appreciation of others, Lempi touched the hearts of everyone she met. Special thanks to Nephew Richard Paavi, and the employees of the Chartwell Select and then of Roseview Manor for caring for her so lovingly. In remembrance of Lempi, take a walk each day and be kind to everyone you meet.
