Margaret (St. Amand) LeBlanc passed away Wednesday, Sept. 5, 2012, at the age of 85. Margaret was born on Jan. 20, 1927, in Irasburg, Vt., to the late Arcade and Georgianna (Stewart) St. Amand.
Margaret was the widow of Bernard G. LeBlanc, who died on Jan. 30, 1989. They shared 42 wonderful years together.
She has been an active member of the American Red Cross, the American Legion Auxillary, and the Daughters of Isabella. She is remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed doing crossword puzzles and playing word and card games. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed preparing delicious meals for her family.
She is survived by her children and in-laws: Raymond and Suzanne LeBlanc of Westmore, Vt., Dr. Dennis and Cindy LeBlanc of Derby, Vt., Claire and Jan Hansen of Delray Beach, Fla., Francis LeBlanc of Barton, Vt., Lorraine and David Staunch of Fairpoint, N.Y., and Marie and Michael Tule of Milford, N.H., numerous grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, her brother- and sister-in-law, Jean and Louise St. Amand of Brooklyn, N.Y., and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends may call on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012, at the Curtis-Britch-Converse-Rushford Funeral Home, 4670 Darling Hill Road, Newport from 8:30 to 10:30 a.m. A funeral service in her honor will be held at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church in Newport, Vt., on Saturday, Sept. 8, 2012 at 11 a.m. Interment prayers and burial will follow immediately afterward in St. Theresa Cemetery, Orleans.
In lieu of flowers, should friends desire, contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, Vermont Division, Inc, 55 Day Lane, Williston, VT 05495.
