Robert A. Saint-Amand, 89, passed away Wednesday, July 4, 2012.

He was a loving husband, devoted father, grandfather, great-grandfather and caring friend to all who knew him.

Robert was born on January 8, 1923 in Wilmington, North Carolina to the late C. Emile and Ella Mae Saint-Amand. He was the ninth and youngest child. Robert attended North Carolina State University in Raleigh, N.C. and the Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, N.Y. He served during World War II in the 10th Air Force in the China, Burma, India Theater. He was awarded several medals of Valor including two Bronze Stars. Robert retired from Sverdrup Corp. Consulting Engineers in 1988. He was also a lifelong communicant of the Episcopal Church, attending St. Andrews Episcopal Church in Jacksonville, FL.

Robert is survived by his loving wife Betty Walker Saint-Amand of 62 wonderful years; daughter Pamela Rose (Louis Hewlett) of Jacksonville, FL; son Robert A. Saint-Amand Jr. (Beverly) of Columbus, GA.; four grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends at Arlington Park Cemetery, 6920 Lone Star Road, for a graveside service on Monday, July 9, 2012 at 10:00am.
