Corona Desrosiers, 85, a resident of the Eddy Village Green, formerly of Clifton Park, entered into eternal life on Sunday, March 7, 2010.
Corona was born in St. Louis, Canada, on December 3, 1924, the daughter of the late Louis and Marie St. Amand. She was educated in Canada and came to the United States in 1951 and in 1981 she became a U.S. citizen. Corona was employed as a cafeteria worker for the Shenendehowa School System for over 20 years until retiring. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Church in Crescent, and also was a member of the West Crescent Fire Department's Women's Auxiliary.
In addition to her parents, she was pre-deceased by her husband, Rene Desrosiers; he died on February 2, 1981; her sisters, Rosea St. Amand, Irene Bernard, and one brother, Viateur St. Amand. Survivors include her devoted children, Alain (Faith) Desrosiers of Halfmoon, Louis (Donna) Desrosiers of Glenville, Diane (Arthur) Vakiener of Niskayuna, Marc (Carol) Desrosiers, Marie (George) Desrosiers, both of Ballston Lake and Richard Desrosiers of Halfmoon; her brother, Jean Guy St. Amand; her sisters, Celine St. Amand, Gilberte Alarie, Jean D'Arc Plouffe, Rose Helene Delobbe, Clemence Gingras, all of Quebec, Canada. Also survived by seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews.
Funeral will be held Thursday at 9:15 a.m. from the Gordon C. Emerick Funeral Home, 1550 Route 9, Clifton Park thence to St. Mary's Church in Crescent, where at 10:00 a.m. the Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Calling hours will be from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday in the funeral home. Interment will be in Memory's Garden, Colonie.
