Born May 25, 1921, passed away peacefully on Thursday, February 19, 2009 at the age of 87. He was born in New Orleans and was a resident of Arabi, St. Bernard Parish for 50 years and Slidell since Katrina. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Marilyn Pitre St. Amant; six children, Stephanie Evans (Robert), Gary St. Amant (Debbie), Suzanne Killeen (Dennis), Saja St. Amant, Theodore St. Amant, III (Marlene) and Sherrie Cox (Kevin); seven granddaughters, eight grandsons, five step grandchildren, six great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert and Henry Miller St. Amant; two sisters, Peggy St. Amant Ducote and Erin Gardner; nieces and nephews; brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws. He was preceded in death by his parents, Theordore F. St Amant, Sr. and Genevieve Ketteringham. He was a World War II U.S. Air Force Veteran; the owner of Ted’s Barber Shop for 45 years; Past President and active member of East Gentily Lion’s Club. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral services at St. Bernard Memorial Funeral Home, 701 West Virtue Street, Chalmette, LA 70043 on Monday, February 23, 2009 at 12:30 PM. Interment will follow in St. Roch Cemetery. Visitation from 10:30 AM until time of service on Monday.
