Passed away peacefully at the Pembroke Regional Hospital on Monday February 5, 2007 after a long and brave struggle with cancer in her 65th year. Barbara Darbyson (nee St. Amand) is survived by her loving husband of 47 years. William John (Jack) Darbyson, her son Patrick and his daughter Jennifer; her daughter Susan Brown (Jim), their children James and April-Lynn; and her mother Irene St. Amand. She was predeceased by her father Frank St. Amand. Also left to mourn her passing are her sisters, Judy Paquette (Dwight), Nancy Gauthier (Daniel), Leanne St. Amand (Jeff) and Cathy Drew (Gary) and her brothers Gary St. Amand, Mike St. Amand (Kathy), Gerry St. Amand (Ruby) and Frank St. Amand (Ramona). She was also a loving aunt and great-aunt to many nieces and nephews. Though Barb is resting in the arms of “The Father” whom she faithfully served for so many years, she will be sadly missed by those she had to leave behind, both family and others that were touched by her life, love and peaceful spirit. Relatives and friends may call at the Murphy Funeral Home, 296 Isabella Street, Pembroke for Memorial Visitation on Friday from 12 noon to 1:45 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the presence of her Ashes on Friday afternoon, February 9 at 2 o’clock in St. Columbkille's Cathedral, Pembroke. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre.
