Edgar J. St. Amand, 56, beloved husband of Verna (Boyington) St. Amand, died comfortably Wednesday, (January 4, 2006) at Hartford Hospital with his wife and family by his side.
Born in Grand Falls, New Brunswick, Canada on May 30, 1949, son of Lucille (Roberge) Riley of West Hartford and the late Gerard St. Amand, he had lived in Windsor for 27 years before moving to Broad Brook several months ago. Edgar was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and served in the Vietnam War. He was a carpenter for the City of Hartford for many years before retiring a few years ago.
In addition to his wife and mother, he leaves his two daughters, Carrie Leroux of Granby, and Dayle St. Amand in South Carolina; three brothers, Gilles St. Amand of Windsor, Alyre St. Amand of Suffield, and Rejean St. Amand of Wethersfield; three sisters, Diane Hooker of Hartford, Linda St. Amand of Coventry, Ann Marie Lafayette of New Hampshire, Christina St. Amand of Windsor, and Juslina St. Amand of Florida; three step-children, Sharon Bickford of Ashford, Mara Hanlon in Maine, and Dave Lamson of Broad Brook. Edgar also leaves his nine beloved grandchildren. His sister, Ginette St. Amand, predeceased him.
A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, 2 p.m., in the chapel of the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home, 807 Bloomfield Ave., Windsor. Burial will be private. His family will receive friends on Saturday, 12 Noon-2 p.m., at the Carmon Windsor Funeral Home.
