Avis de décès : M. Joseph E. Meunier (1931-12-23 - 2005-10-03)

Mr. Joseph E. Meunier, of Milford, died peacefully on Monday, October 3, 2005, after battling Myasthenia Gravis this past year. As it was when their marriage began 40 years ago, his loving wife, Maria, was again by his side.

Youngest son of the late Salome St. Amant and Hormidos Meunier, he was born in Burlington, Vt., on December 23, 1931. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Korean War. He moved to Connecticut in 1955, where he was employed by Sikorsky Aircraft until his retirement in 1995, after 40 years.

As true marriage vows are written and lived by, he absolutely loved, honored, and cherished his beloved wife, Maria, above all else. He was a loving, caring and giving father to sons, Walter of Ansonia and Gregory and his wife, Theresa, of East Haven. He loved and adored his two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by a son, John Joseph Meunier; and his four brothers, Richard (Dick), Leo, Norman, and Wilfred.

He was a good and simple man, a hard worker, a fair and decent human being and represented best what a husband and father should be. He will be sorely missed, but well remembered by those whose lives he touched.

Services were held in private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Connecticut Hospice, 100 Double Beach Road, Branford, CT 06450.

Arrangements in care of the Cody-White Funeral Home, 107 Broad Street on the Green, Milford.
