Albert F. St. Amand, 87, passed away Wednesday, March 16th in the Washburn House after a long illness.
He was predeceased by his wife Helen A. Wiseman St. Amand in 2003. He is survived by his former spouse, Maxine H. Granville of Greensboro, NC, his daughter, Maxine Hatley of Burlington, NC, 2 stepdaughters, Frances Mantha of Auburn and Teresa Belanger of Worcester, 3 brothers, Francis and Leo St. Amand of Worcester and Edward St. Amand of Auburn, 5 sisters, Anna Garlick, Jane Gemma and Cecile Catterson all of RI and Florence Hayes and Alice Gozdur both of Worcester, 2 grandsons, a great grandson and many step grandchildren. He was predeceased by 2 sisters, Irene Harpin of W. Warwick, RI, Theresa St. Amand of Worcester, 2 brothers, George St. Amand of Shrewsbury and Lucien St. Amand of Whitinsville.
He was born in Whitinsville the son of Joseph and Marion (Nolet) St. Amand, and had lived in Worcester for most of his life and was a Navy veteran of World War II. Mr. St. Amand was a designer and builder of homes. He was the first to introduce the Frank Lloyd Wright style of architecture to the Worcester area. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. He was a former member of Our Lady of the Angels Church and recently a member of St. Charles Borromeo Church.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, March 19th at 9:30 AM in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 341 June Street. Burial will be private. There are no calling hours.
