Racine - Elizabeth R. "Betty" (nee: St. Amand) Kehl, 69, passed away at her residence on Monday, March 3, 2003. She was born in Racine on May 7, 1933, to Hector and Elizabeth (nee: Maurer) St. Amand.

A lifelong resident of Racine, she married Richard "Dick" Kehl on August 31, 1953, in Long Beach, Calif.

She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Betty prided herself as an Artist, working in pottery and stained glass. She also was an exceptional gardener, nurturing unusual perennials and exotic orchids.

Surviving are her husband, Dick; one daughter and son-in-law, Celinda 'Cindy' (Tom) Harvey of Brookfield; a son, Dennis (Mae Green) Kehl of Milwaukee; a grandson, Jeff Harvey; a granddaughter, Deanna Harvey, both of Brookfield; one brother, Jerome (Margaret) St. Amand of Racine; and two sisters, Evelyn (Edward) Vallner of Neshkoro and Jacqueline (Carl) Seyferth of Glendale. Further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. Preceded in death by her parents; and one brother, Robert "Bobby" St. Amand of Racine.

Memorial services will be held at the Hanson Funeral Home on Friday, March 7, 2003, at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Ronald Crewe officiating. Private inurnment will take place at West Lawn Memorial Park.

Memorials in Betty's memory to Wustum Museum, 2519 Northwestern Avenue, Racine, Wis. 53404; Arthritis Foundation, Wisconsin Chapter, 8556 West National Avenue, West Allis, Wis. 53227; or Alzheimer's Association, 6130 West National Avenue, Suite 200, Milwaukee, Wis. 53214 have been suggested.
