At the Grand Falls Manor, December 10, 2002, Mr. Guy St-Amand of Grand Falls passed away at the age of 91 years. He was the husband of the late Yvonne Laforest by first marriage and of the late Stella Cote by second marriage. Born at Grand Falls in 1911, he was a son of the late Frank and Edna (Leclerc) St-Amand.
Mr. St-Amand was a veteran of World War II. He was elected to the Grand Falls town council for one term, served fifteen years on the local school board and also fifteen years on the town planning committee.
He was predeceased by an infant son, Francis. He is survived by two sons, Francis (friend Lynn) of Morrisburg, Ontario and Maurice (Ginette) of Moncton, one daughter, Anne Daigle (Raymond) of Drummond, seven grandchildren, three great grandchildren, one brother, Clair St-Amand (Yolande) of Grand Falls, four sisters, Frances Thibault (Doug) of Toronto, Freda Roberts of New Hampshire, Phyllis Beals of Connecticut and Jacqueline Bell of Caribou, Maine, as well as nieces and nephews.
Resting at O'Regan's Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls with visiting hours Friday from 7-9 p.m. and Saturday from 12:30 to 2 p.m. His funeral will be held Saturday, December 14th at 2 p.m. from the Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, with Father William Rice officiating. Interment will be in the Assumption cemetery. Members of the Royal Canadian Legion, Branch 21, will have prayers Friday at 7:30 p.m.
